I don't particularly like signs and quotes. Every person is different and, how can a person be described within just a few words? How can a man live by a quote?
This sign is hanging at my daughter's room, though, indicating a powerful quote by Nikos Kazantzakis:
“Reach what you cannot” (“ Φτάσε όπου δεν μπορείς ”). I even spent many hours of my precious night sleep to design, write and paint this particular one to hang at their room.

It is hanged over their loft bed, as high as it was possible. At age 4 my oldest daughter can't reach it.
This is the point I wanted to make: “Maybe now  you can't reach your goals, but everyday you get stronger and wiser and if you set a goal and work hard towards it, everyday you will be closer to your dreams.”

"Reach out for your Dreams, my darling"

happiness is a choice

Such striving may seem admirable,

dare to blossom

27 January 2015
As I came back from a hospital visit my eyes opened to this little miracle:
The almond tree blossomed despite it is clearly winter.
So, today, I choose looking up over looking down.

" When it rains,
look for rainbows.
  When it’s dark,
   look for stars. "
What is even cuter than baby feet?
These barefoot sandals are my new obsession!
I love everything about them:
searching for the perfect pattern on the internet/ creating a new pattern/ collecting fine materials/
crocheting using the smallest crochet hook I've ever seen/
admiring tiny sandals/ kissing baby feet/ share them with you!

"She is too tiny to name her Lydia- let's call her Little Drummer (girl)"

"This is a woman, and her baby. She is pregnant. The baby is inside her belly, and you can never see inside a belly"

She originally painted a baby inside the woman's belly, but she covered it with black paint as she was explaining it to me.

Oh, my sweet little girl.

And just like that, I am back to my own childhood, reading The Little Prince and laughing at the grown-ups who see a child's drawing but cannot understand it-
they always need to have things explained.

"All grown-ups were once children - although few of them remember it."
Antoine de Saint Exupéry, The Little Prince

One of the nicest things about toddlerhood:

go shopping with your family on a Spring day proudly wearing your swimsuit over your clothes

All the preparations I made for my second baby was gathering and making montessori infant material.
I love the Montessori way of living!
I was waiting for this moment to come- having my precious little one and trying out all these things Montessori parents swear by.

I truly believe Montessori works, but still it is a great surprise to watch how well this applies to an infant's needs -
the baby is only 2 weeks old and she was occupied by these pictures for what felt like ages to me!

She discovers her voice- and she uses it!

welcoming Lydia

It feels like there has always been a place for you into our family.
And now you are here.
Welcome, my little one.

a giving heart

My little girl will soon become the big sister to our baby girl.
My heart melts watching her making "preparations" for the baby-

When we had our first baby, we were busy enough worrying if we are holding/ dressing/ caring for her the right way.

Now I am confident to relax and smile just picturing this little new baby in cute cloth diapers.

21 April 2014

I try to steal some time alone with my baby bump and the wonderful human being inside it and the same time I want to share it with my loved ones: "Did you see it? She is moving!". All the excitement is here, although this is the second time around.

I am excited to meet my new baby, but can wait just a little more to enjoy this feeling!

a moment

31 March 2014

 A place by the sea.
The wonderful news.
A new life, full of possibilities: I am expecting.

How can a person be described within just a few words?
We are much more complicated -and amazing- than that!
My name is Victoria,
I am a mama, a science teacher, a Montessori enthusiast, an occasional crafter, a book lover.
And I strive to find the perfect words.
I am so glad you are here!
